Core Exceptions

If you're taking a course abroad that you think should count as a UK Core, you can request a UK Core Exception.

It isn't guaranteed that the course you're taking will be approved as a UK Core Course, but you can always check with the General Education Exceptions Committee to see. First, you'll need to pick out the course you want to take abroad, then complete the course approval process. After that, you're ready to see if it can be a UK Core Course. If you have questions, chat with your Academic Advisor.

UK Core Exceptions Steps:

  • Complete the online UK Core Exceptions Form and upload a copy of the course description/syllabus.
  • The Committee will review everything and let you know what they decide.
  • If it's approved, it could take 7-10 days for it to be updated in your records.
